Awaakbak is an invitation to encounter Jamaica beyond the familiar. Over two weeks, we’ll move through the island’s history, culture, landscape, food and music — from Maroon heritage and traditional folk forms to waterfalls, estates, small communities and the rhythms that continue to shape Jamaican life. This is not a race through Jamaica. There will be room to linger, to listen, to talk, and to experience the places we visit with context and care.
