The Story Behind InsideJourneys
InsideJourneys was born from a simple belief: travel becomes truly memorable when you move beyond the places you see and connect with the people, stories, and culture that give them meaning.
For founder Sarah Ellison, that journey began with Jamaica. Leaving home made her see the island differently — its golden-red sunsets, misty Blue Mountains, historic great houses, vibrant food, music, art, and most importantly, the warmth of its people. Returning as a visitor, she began discovering a Jamaica she had never known as a local.
That curiosity became InsideJourneys: a way for travelers to cross the line between tourist and insider. Through local connections, off-the-beaten-path experiences, community tourism, culture, history, and food, each journey invites you to slow down, connect deeply, and experience a destination from the inside.
What we believe
We go slowly because going fast means missing the point. Our journeys are measured in conversations, meals, and encounters — not kilometres covered.
